"When did mediocrity and banality become a good image for your children?"

I love Bill Hicks. Here he was talking about the scourge of his time, The New Kids on the Block, but he could just as easily been talking about the Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana, Your New American Idol, or any of the other focus-grouped, prefabricated marketing ploys disguised as musical acts that are running around today.

I saw this segment a while ago, and he's 100% right. You could also add Fergie, R. Kelly, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Nickelback, Poison, Celine Dion Limp Bizkit, Korn and Blink 182 to the list of
mediocrity that's become good for the people. If Bill was alive I'm sure he would have mentioned those bozos...

You could definetly argue that the artists you listed are mediocre. I dont think any of them being used as examples of good images for our children though.
